Day 1:Tiananmen Square to Forbidden City in the morning
Tiananmen Square is the biggest city square around the world also the center of Beijing, which witnessed so many historical events which affected Chinese history a lot. There are so many famous landmark buildings surround it, it is one of the must-sees in Beijing.
Forbidden City also named Palace Museum, in imperial time, it is the palace of the emperor, because the emperors are always afraid of being killed so the average people are not allowed to get close, that is the reason why we call it Forbidden City. Forbidden City is the symbol of Beijing, and it is worth having a look!
Temple of heaven and Hutong in the afternoon
Temple of Heaven is the place for the emperors to worship God of Heaven, and the architectures here are the essences of the traditional Chinese architectures. I am sure the beauty of the Temple will strike an emotional chord.
Nowadays Temple of Heaven is popular for old people to do exercise in the morning and you can see lots of old people dancing, singing and practicing Kong Fu here.
Hutong is the alley between courtyards, nowadays Hutong is very important cultural symbol of Beijing and also is the ideal place to experience the average people’s daily life. During the Hutong trip, you will have the chance to take pedicabs and walk inside the traditional courtyard to be a real Beijinger. Enjoy the local life here.
Day 2:Mutianyu greatwall in the morning
Mutianyu Great Wall is about 80 km north of the city area of Beijing. This section of Great Wall is very popular because comparing with Badaling Great Wall, Mutianyu Great Wall is not crowded with much fewer people, and the wall here is also very nice and wonderful. It is long, you can see the Great Wall keep snaking on the mountain ridge, and the tourism facilities here are the best, there are chair lift, cable car and chute, the condition of the wall is very good. The Great Wall was renovated in 1985, so it is very safe to hike on it , this section of Great Wall is suitable to all kinds of ages.
Summer Palace in the afternoon
Summer Palace is the traveling Palace for the emperors in imperial time. In summer, Beijing is very sweltering especially in the center of the city. In order to get rid of the heat, emperors will move from Forbidden City to here, because it is much cooler and the lake here is so big and so nice. You can take a dragon boat and enjoy the view of the nice traditional architectures and the big mountains close by at the same time. It is the Schoenbrunn Palace in China.
